He it survived by hit wife: Alice Atchison of Albany; four sons, Clayton Atchison of Jefferson, Clynton Atchison and Bryan Atchison, both of Lebanon, and Chris Atchison of Montana; three daughters, Teresa Lanpheare and Denise Atchison, both of Albany, and Lisa Buskirk of Jefferson; one brother, Isom Atchison of Albany; three sisters. Donna Spinier of Albany, Darlene Kenward of Manieca, Calif, and Betty Jones of Roseburg; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Frank W.

Prurtt Frank William Pruitt, 86, of Downey, Calif, and a former longtime Lebanon resident, died Sunday, July 27 in Downey, Calif. A graveside service was held Friday, August 1 at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery. Pastof Henry Dahlberg officiated. He was born October 24, 1910 at Atoka, Oklahoma to Richard and Anna (Cipson) Pruitt. The family moved to Central Oregon when he was a child and lived in the Bend area before returning to Oklahoma.

He later moved to California. He married Arline Johnson at Hayward, California on September 16, 1933. The couple then moved to Bend for a short time and back to before moving.to Lebanon in July 1945. Pruitt worked at Champion Plywood for 30 years, retiring in 1975. Mrs.

Pruitt died November 7, 1976. In October 1994, Pruitt moved to California with his daughter. He was a member of the Lebanon First Assembly of Cod Church. Before moving to California, he was an active volunteer at the Lebanon I Senior Center. He is survived by two sons, Cleve M.

Pruitt of Bend and Robert A. Pruitt of Botley, a daughter, Nancy Willsey of Whittier, California; two sisters, Mary Witt of Tangent and Lucille Rowley of Salem; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Pruitt, on Nov. 20, 1 985; a granddaughter, Angela M. Looney O'Brian, on May 9, 1992; two sisters and two brothers.

Richard Lee Williams Richard Lee Williams, 16, of Lebanon, died Monday, July 28, from injuries sustained in bicycle accident. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 1 at Huston-Jost Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Hotrum officiating. Burial followed at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.

He was born October 3, 1980 in Ventura, Calif, and had lived in Simi Valley all his life. He had been attending Simi Valley High School and would have been-a senior next year. He came to Lebanon for vacation and to visit his mother. 1 le enjoyed riding and working on bicycles, roller blading, skate boarding and dancing. He Is survived by his mother and stppfather, Debra and Edward Lovato of Lebanon; a sister, Amber Upton of Lebanon; his grandmother, Jane Upton of Lancaster, great grandmother, Ruth Upton of Massachusetts; an aunt, Regina Upton of Lancaster, an uncle and his wife, Richard and Colleen Upton of Simi Valley, foster parents, John and Debbie Varado of Simi Valley, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Upton; uncle, Aaron Upton, and aunt, Paula Davis. Contributions in his memory may be made to a trust fund established at the Lebanon Branch of U.S. Bank to help defray expenses for the family. John H.Rice John H. Rice, 67, of Lebanon died Wednesday, July 30 at Lebanon Community Hospital.

A memorial service was held Mpnday, August 4 at the Albany United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Curtis Johnstone officiating. He was born June 26, 1930, the son of Earl and Lera (Cheek) Rice in American Falls, Idaho. He was raised in Caldwell, Idaho and married Donna Davison on October 1, 1950 in Winnemucca, Nevada Rice served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1956, serving 2 years in Japan. Following his discharge, the couple moved to Lebanon. He worked in maintenance and repair at the Lebanon Armory for 35 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a 31 year member of the American Legion Santiam Post 51, and a 25 year member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America. He enjoyed tinkering with old cars, gardening, building and traveling. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife, Donna Rice of Lebanon; a daughter, Jacqueline Rice of Albany; a son Steven Rice of Monroe; two sisters, Frances Estlund of Woodburn and Lera Westenskow of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Gilbert of Meridian, Idaho and Earl of Augusta, Georgia; a granddaughter, Kan Hall; and two great grandsons, Keevan and Hunter Hall. He was preceded in death by a brother, David.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in hit memory may be made to Lebanon tospice and sent in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. Grant Lebanon, OR. 9735S. Vernon E. Bell Vernon E.

Bell, 71, of Salem, died July 27. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Bell was born June 11, 1926 In Buhl, Idaho. He served In the U.S. Army during WWII.

He graduated from Idaho State Urrlversity with a degree in Pharmacology. He moved to Salem in 1955 and was a practicing pharmacist for 41 years. He married Margaret Wilson on April 4, 1949 in Pocattelo, Idaho. He was a member of the Oregon Pharmaceutical Association and the Nature Conservancy Association. He enjoyed life, family, friends, camping, golfing, fishing and the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret A. Bell of Salem; one son, Thorn Bell of Pocattelo, Idaho; two sisters, Louise Jones of Hansen, Idaho and Winona Stout of Garden Valley, Idaho; and five grandchildren. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Marion County Unit, 161 High Street SE, Suite 208-C, Salem, Oregon 97301. Robert S. Currier Robert Stanage Currier, 81, of Lebanon, died on Thursday, at the Villa Cascade Care Center in Lebanon.

No services are planned. He was born June 26, 1916 at Chicago, III. to Robert and Ruth (Stanage) Currier. He was raised in Des Plaines, III. and lived there until entering the U.S.

Army Air Corps during WWII. Following his discharge, he married Margaret Gutekunst in Des Plaines on Oct. 7, 1946. The couple lived in Illinois until moving to Lebanon in December 1980. Currier had worked in the printing -business as a lithographer much of his life.

He enjoyed reading, English history, photography, opera music and bowling. His wife, Margaret, preceded him in death on January 26, 1 995. A son, Robert Bruce Currier, also preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Richard Currier of Lebanon; a daughter, Carol Currier-Frighetto of Marengo; two sisters, lone Currier and Mary Woeltje, both of Lebanon; two grandchildren and one great granddaugh-. ter.

By ROB OSTER Lebanon Express Writer Political activist Al Mobley and journalist Paul Knobel recently teamed up to create "Straight Talk Sunday," a news radio talk show that will focus on issues of concern to its listeners. The show debuted on KGAL Radio AM 1580 last month and is on the air from 5 to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Mobley is best known for his run for governor as an Independent in 1990. Knobel is a weekly columnist for the national publication "Satellite TV Week." He has also been the publisher of monthly Investigative, news-oriented publications in Grants Pass for the past five years. Chamber director completes program v. p. It V.

The event was held July 13-18 at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). -The professional development program is specifically designed to address the unique challenges facing chamber and association executives. Participants learn the latest techniques in membership retention, quality management, volunteer leadership develop- ment and non-dues revenue enhancement, among other things. Prior to attending, enrollees receive reading assignments and had to complete a home-study examination.

Early guests have included State Senator Marilyn Shannon. KGAi's main studio is in Lebanon and Mobley and Knobel hope to tackle some local issues in the future. The show is broadcast from a remote studio in Albany. Listeners will also have the Institute is nationally recognized by the chamber and association communities for its standard of academic excellence.

Sixth-year graduates receive a certificate of chamber or association management and earn points toward the Certified Association Executive (CAE) or Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designations. Courses are taught by recog- nized leaders within the chamber, association and academic communities.
