Chester A. (Chet) Cole Nov. 17, 1920 Dec. 1, 2006 Chester A. (Chet) Cole, 86, formerly of Lebanon and most recently of West Linn, died Dec.

1, 2006. At the request of Cole, no services will be held. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. He was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Drain, the son of John and Bessie Cole.

On April 14, 1942, he married Ruth Colvin in Vancouver, Wash. They lived in Lebanon from 1960 to 2003. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Army in Europe with the 78th Infantry Division, 309 Regiment.

He earned three bronze stars. He worked for Willamette Industries Trucking Division for most of his life. He retired in 1982. He was a member of the Good Sam Camper Club and a former Post Commander of the American Legion in Lebanon and Idahna. Survivors are his son Dean Cole of West Linn; granddaughters Debbie Cole and Laurie Cole of Sacramento, granddaughter Erin Cole and grandson-in-law Mike Phillips of Yahaba, Japan; daughter-in-law Sue Harris of Sacramento; and sisters Lucille McFarland of Caldwell, Idaho, and Rosella Finalyson of Florence.
