we par him Mrs. L. C. Rice died at her home at Iacomb, Tuesday, after an illness of eral weeks, of cancer of the atom-a 'lie, at the age of 68 year and 7 ninths. Her maiden name was Miss M.Sperry.

She was born in Iowa, in May, 1819, and with her parents ossed the plain in 1851 with an ox am. Sha was married to L. Rice, a Brownsville, in this county, on Dec. 14, and has lived in this cnunty ever since. Mr.

Rice died just fi ttr mouths pruvious to her to a day. Mr. Rice ws the mother of five chil-den, three of whom survive her.
