during a reception. Previous to. service in Milwaukie, Dr. Schmidt served the First Presbyterian church of Lebanon for 15 years. He has also served churches at Hysham and Dillon, and Spokane, Wash.

In 1957, Dr. Schmidt and his family moved to Milwaukie. Dr. Schmidt has receid degrees from the College of Wooster (Ohio), McCormick Theological Seminary (Chicago) and from Lewis and Clark college for an honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity. Dr, and Mrs, Schmidt have three children; Mrs.

Arthur (Alice) Clawson of San Diego, Dr. Harvey J. Schmidt Jr. of Illinois State university, and Dr. James F.

Schmidt Portland, and i grandchildren. Airman Donald D. Wolfe, son of Mr. and Mrs. James D.

Wolfe of 204 Cascade Drive, Lebanon, has completed his U. S. Air Force basic training at the" Air Training Command's Lackland AFB. Tex. He has been assigned to Sheppard AFB, for training as a medical Airman Wolfe, a 18 graduate of Lebanon Union high school, attended Clark college, Vancouver, Wash.

His wife, Elaine, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Couglin of Main Street, Lebanon. Ronald Rhoades Navy Petty Officer Third Class Ronald Rhoades, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Wayne A. Rhoades of Star Route 1, Lebanon, is now off the Vietnamese coast aboard the USS Constellation, one of six Dr. Pace to teach Monday evening, plans were begun for a lay witness mission at the First United Methodist church for October, with Mrs. Ronald Race heading the planning. A continuation of the summer "100 minutes for Christ," each Sunday at 9:30 a.m., with three, church picnics being planned for June 25, July 30 and August 27, with Dean Mason as chairman of the first picnic.
