Poplin, 88, of 38927 West Sclo Road, Sclo, was Wednesday at Sclo Baptist Church. The Rev. Mike Jaskllka offlcated and burial followed at Franklin Butte Cemetery. Huston Funeral' Home of Lebanon was In charge of arrangements. He died Monday at Santiam Memorial Hospital In Stayton.

Born April IS, 1891, In Rhon--do, N.C., he was an Army veteran of World War, I and was stationed at Vancouver Barracks at Vancouver, Wash, He also worked tn the logging industry in the Portland area. He and his wife, Mary Holechek, whom he married Feb. 2, 1935, in Vancouver, operated Holechek Meat and Ice Plant in Sclo until 1946. They then built the West Sclo Grocery which they operated until his retirement In 1977. She died tn 1977.

He then had been doing farm work near Providence. Poplin was a former member of the Sclo Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Bessie Hickman, Washougal, a stepson, Harry Holechek of Culver; a sister, Maggie Burcham of Washington, DC, and a brother. Archie Krogh Funeral for a former Sweet Home resldentArchie Kroghr 76, of Myrtle Creek, were Wednesday at Holley Christian Church, with the Rev. Mont Smith officiating.

Burial followed at Union Cemetery In Crawfordsville. Tracewell Funeral Home of Sweet Home was In charge of arrangements. Born Sept. 12, 1902, on a homestead near Joseph, he lived at Republic, Redmond and Kelso, before becoming a lumber grader with Company in Snoqualmie, Wash. He moved to Sweet Home In 1950, and retired in 1967 from Foster Division of Willamette Industries.

He was a member of the PrlnevUle Christian Church, Holley Grange and former member of ihe Holley Chris- tlan Church. He married Edith Thompson June 1, 1934, in Seattle. She died in 1958. On Sept. 6, 1964, he married Irene E.

Wells at Sweet Home. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carol Lynn Portland; three brothers; a sister, and five grandchildren.
