Arrangements were handled by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service in Salem. Lucille Rose Israel I vX Before moving to Lebanon, she attended Crabtree Christian Church.

She and her husband became charter members of Lebanon's Southside Church of Christ, where she was an active member for many years. Her family remembers her as a great homemaker. She loved crocheting, gardening and her flowers. She is survived, by a daughter, Margret LaRue of Lebanon; a brother, Glenn Mankin of Portland; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Stevens, who died on March 9, 1984; two grandchildren, Cheryl LaRue and Terry LaRue, also died before she did.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the Southside Church of Christ and sent in care of Huston Funeral Home in Lebanon. Frank Lee Peak, Sr. Frank Lee Peak, of Lebanon died Monday, Oct.

30 at his home. Graveside services were held Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Pastor Doug Dornhecker officiating. He was born Jan.

2, 1934 in Bonhan, Texas to Fred and Arvella (Standlee) Peak. He lived in Texas until moving to Petaluma, Calif, in the early 1940s, where he lived until entering the Navy in 1951. He served during the Korean War and was discharged in 1955. i He returned to Petaluma and mar--ried Rose Hayes on July 29, 1959 in Carson City, Nev. They lived in the Petaluma area until December 1990, when they moved to Lebanon.

He worked as a custodian for over 26 years for the Santa Rosa School District before retiring in 1989. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Rose Peak of Lebanon; two sons, Jame Hayes of Bend and Frank Peak, Jr. of Roseburg; two daughters, Julie Collinsworth of Lebanon and Joy Lienau of Ripon, a brother, James Wofford of Santa Rosa, three sisters, Nadine Emery of Corning, Hazel Evensen of Napa, Calif, and Barbara Crump of Ronnert Park, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Peak; a brother, John Woffbrd and a sister, Myrtle Partain.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Lebanon Hospice' and sent in care of Huston Funeral Home! Wilburn O. "Bill" Bogart Jr. Wilburn Overton "Bill" Bogart 70, of Lebanon died Tuesday, Oct. 31 at his home. A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov.

4 at the Lebanon American Legion Hall Santiam Post 51. He was born May 13, 1925 in Roswell, N. M. to Wilburn and Dorothy (Shelton) Bogart. He was raised in New Mexico and Texas.

He married Cherie Scoles on Nov. 1 4, 1 946 in Las Vegas, Nev. He then served in the Army Air Corps for three i years. After his discharge, he moved to Phoenix and worked as a salesman. He later moved to Oregon and was employed by mill in Cottage Grove when he was recalled to service during the Korean War.

He served for one year in the Air Force and was discharged in 1951. He then returned to Oregon where he did construction work. He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator. The couple then spent 24 years in northern California and five years in Alaska. They enjoyed traveling and lived in Lebanon for several years.

He was a member of the American Legion Santiam Post 51. He loved fishing and was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife, Cherie Bogart of Lebanon; his mother, Dorothy Gel wick of Redding, three sons, Bill Bogart of Lebanon, Jim Bogart of Sacramento, Calif, and Jon Bogart of Placentia, three daughters, Linda Quintrell of Lebanon, Cheri Withers of Redding, Calif, and Dorothy Contopulos of Indian Wells, a daughter-in-law, Linda Bogart of Cheyenne, two sisters, Rachef Spinks of Redding, Calif. and Wanda Carcerano of Pasadena, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death Army in World War II as a captain in the medical supply division and was stationed in New Guinea and Australia.

He received the American Defense Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with a Bronze Star. He served in the Reserves until 1963. He graduated from Oregon State University fn 1940 with a bachelor's of science in pharmacy. He was a pharmacist in Corvallis, Brownsville, and Lebanon from 1946 until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed cattle ranching, gar: dening, hunting and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Shirlee Thomas of Brownsville; his children, Maurice Thomas of Boring, John Thomas of Hawaii, Tony Koontz of Albany and Sherrie Mclntyre of Hillsboro; a brother, Verling Thomas of Corvallis; sisters, Nina Bergstrom of Wilsonville, Wanda Mullen of Port Angeles, Charlotte Cameron of Sherwood, and Joyce Ryman of Edmonds, Wash. A sister, Zita Kalljan, and a brother, Starleigh Thomas, preceded him in death. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Kenneth Raymond Christensen Kenneth Raymond Christensen, 77, of Lebanon died Tuesday, Oct. 31 at a Salem hospital.

Disposition was by cremation. Burial will be held in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. He was born Oct. 13, 1918 in Greenfield, Iowa. He was a World War II army veteran and a retired printer-pressman.

He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal and the American Defense Service Ribbon during four years' of service in World War II. He was assigned to Co. 20th Infantry. In 1945, he married Helen Abbott of San Francisco, Calif. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last June 12.

He worked as a machinist and printer in Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, Washington, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, Utah and California. He and his wife also owned weekly newspapers in Montana. He lived In Lebanon since "1992 after moving here from Los Banos, Calif. Survivors include his wife, Helen Christensen; a stepson, Richard Mittman of Indianapolis, step Laura Ellen Seiders, 81, of Lebanon died Wednesday, Nov. 1 in a Lebanon care home.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Pastor Henry Dahlberg officiating. She was born Dec. 3, 1913 in Custer, S.D.

She grew up in South Dakota and later moved to Rathdrun, Idaho. She lived in Washington prior to coming to Lebanon in 1956. She married Daniel Seiders on Aug. 25, 1956 in Corvallis. He preceded her in death on Feb.

1, 1971. She was a member of the Lebanon American Legion Auxiliary and she enjoyed playing cards, particularly pinochle. She is survived by her son, Gerald Elliott of Orting, and two grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary and sent in care of Huston Funeral Home in Lebanon. Lucille Rose Israel, 79, of Lebanon died Wednesday, Nov.

1 at Lebanon Community Hospital. A graveside service was held Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery. She was born Sept.

24, 1916 in Lexington, Neb. to Pete and Grace (Saling) Webber. She married Lloyd Israel on Oct. 15, 1938 In Norton, Kan. The couple moved to the Lebanon area In 1949 and have lived here since.

Mr. Israel passed away Dec. 28, 1958. She enjoyed sewing and her flowers. Survivors include her six sons, Lebanon residents Roger Israel, Roy Israel, Kenny Israel and Alvin Israel, Scio resident Lenhie Israel and Spokane, Wash, resident David Israel; a daughter, Shirley Schmitz of Stayton; a brother, Carl Weber of Albany; three sisters, Mary Rivera of Lebanon, Dorothy Ereth of Kalispel, Mont, and Gertrude Wonder of Costa Mesa, 14 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosie Canada and a sister, Beverly Oakley. Huston Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Dell Marie Hauxwell Dell Marie Hauxwell, 93, of Lebanon died Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Villa Cascade Care Center. A graveside service was held Monday, Nov.

6 at Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Burial was followed by a memorial service at the Southside Church of Christ with pastors Tom Shepherd and Dale LaRue officiating. was born July 25, 1902 in Turner to Guy ana Sadie "Irene (Stanton) Mankin. The family later moved to Crabtree and to Lebanon when she was 1 7 years old.

She married Ray Hauxwell on Aug. 4, 1921 in Albany. She and her husband started a hobby green house which evolved into a business where she spent much time for several years. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1967.

Johnson Donald M. "Big Don" Johnson, 68, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Nov, 4 at Lebanon Community Hospital. a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Lebanon First Assembly of God Church on Seventh and Oak Streets in Lebanon with Pastor Edwin Rumerfield officiating.

Private interment will be held at a later date at Sandridge Cemetery. He was born June 22, 1927 in Choteau, Mont, to Axel and Amanda (Hansen) Johnson. He attended school in Power, Mont. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

fjmarried Margaret Champlin on MarTh 8, 1947 in Choteau, Mont. After his discharge from the Navy in 1951, the couple moved to Lebanon, where Don went to work for Morse Bros, for a short time. In the following years he worked at Long Bell Lumber Yard and at Linn County Lumber Yard, where he managed the Bargain Barn until it burned in the early '1980s. He went on to work for Economy Wholesale. For the last several years, he was employed at Northwest Cash-N-Carry, a division of Northwest Lumber.

He will be remembered for enjoy- ing his family and people as a whole, telling stories, tractor pulls and rodeos. He was a "Friend of Many Friends." He was a life member of trfe Lebanon Elks Lodge 1663, a member of the Lebanon 7-10 Lions Club and a member of the Scio Buckaroos. He is survived by -his Johnson; three sons, James Johnson, Michael Johnson and John lohnson. all of Lebanon: two daueh- ters, Janice Maxwell and Roxanne Johnson, both of Lebanon; three brothers, William Johnson of Power, Raymond Johnson and Thomas Johnson, both in California; eight grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Contributions may be made to the family.

Huston Funeral Home is handling arrangements. James Richard Smith James Richard Smith, 58, of St. Helens died Monday, Oct. 30 near St. Helens.

Private family services will be held at a later date. He was born Nov. 29, 1936 in Lebanon to William and Mabel Smith. He grew up in the Lebanon area, graduating in 1954. Before moving to St.

Helens, he lived in Tillamook, where he worked for Crown-Zellerbach. He lived in the St. Helens area for the last 10 years and was a member of the Elks Lodge 1999. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, boating and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Elvera Smith of St.

Helens; a son, Darin Smith and his wife Kathy of St. Helens; step-children, Vicki, Mike, Tim and Julie; a brother, Bill Smith of Lebanon; a sister, Mildred Murray of Sweet Home, and step-grandchildren, Cory, Joy, Jessica Dustyn, and Garrett. Columbia Funeral Home of St. Helens is handling the arrangements. Maurice Edward Thomas Maurice Edward Thomas, 80, of Brownsville died Friday, Oct.

27 at his home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the Central Valley Church. He was born Jan. 1 9, 1 91 5 in Gull" Lake, Saskatchewan to Albert E.
